Mark,
I wish it didn't connect to kids. We don't need a study to tell us kids benefit from getting exercise— and will have lower healthcare bills later on?

I'm not advocating 2nd graders running track, but kids will build up strength if we give kids a chance to do what they've been doing for 150,000 years: playing outdoors!

I'm with you Tim. Just get out there and move.

And by the way, great interview on NBC.

Ditto on lowering healthcare expense through activity ... wish the system priced healthcare insurance according to ones lifestyle impact on health risks ...

An additional thought on running and knees… It's been my experience in completing 8 marathons over the past 10 years, whenever my knees start aching, it's typically because something else is hurting. A weak hip flexor or a tight piriformis might be causing some form of compensation which registers as pain in the knees.
