Earlier this month we were able to see Chicago student chefs rewrite the recipe for school food. With our flagship Chicago contest on Nov. 3, HSC kicked off our national Cooking up Change series of healthy cooking contests around the country.
Now, we are happy to announce our Cooking up Change Denver finalists! The young culinary talents will present healthy school lunches that meet high nutrition standards and many of the constraints faced in school food service at the national finals in Washington D.C. in May 2012.

The team is excited to promote healthy school lunches. Libertad said, “Vegetables are awesome!”
The Manual High students created cheesy chicken pasta baked with vegetable ragu, a spinach and carrot muffin with carrot sticks, and a fruit and yogurt parfait.
