Today, high school culinary students will step forward to present their vision for the future of school food: healthy, great-tasting lunches that get two thumbs up from fellow students and nutritionists alike. The students are competing in Cooking up Change, Healthy Schools Campaign's annual healthy cooking contest that challenges students to reinvent school lunch.
The flagship Chicago contest, which takes place today at the Bridgeport Art Center, kicks off a series of contests across the nation. In May, the winning team from each city will travel to Washington, DC to compete in the national finals and present their vision for school food to Congress. We invite you to join us in Cooking up Change!
